Transparency

Our criminal justice system operates with impunity largely because no one pays attention. We are living in a lock um up society. We also are living in such a security conscious world that our criminal justice system is able to craft procedures that limit scrutiny. I see this as unacceptable in our modern world. Anyone who operates without transparency creates opportunities for abuse.

I was incarcerated in Michigan from 1991 until 2000. Upon my release, I applied for and, in 2011, was granted a restricted Social Work license in Ohio. In addition, I have 16 years of re-entry experience working with offenders at Citizens Circles, 12-step meetings, and in houses of worship.
