Re-entry is challenging

Yesterday I learned that a man getting released for a sex offense had his placement denied and is required to enter a half-way house miles from his home. There was no explanation provided and no means of changing the decision. It is another example of the prison system adding roadblocks to the already challenging time of being released from prison. The half-way house is unlikely to make the transition easier or safer. Those individuals living with sex offenses are victims of legal discrimination based on fear rather than science. Prison CONversation is creating ways for us to challenge this.
